Located in an industrial building steeped in history, the studio is split into two areas. One room is the dyeing studio, with space to create custom colourways on yarn and fibre. It's small, but well-planned, and has room for drying when the weather doesn't support outdoor airing.
The textile studio has a large table that comfortably seats 3 people, as well as a floor loom, 2 spinning wheels, and storage for the equipment and beautiful fabrics for quilting and dyeing.
The studio doesn't have regular opening times like a shop, due to it's industrial location, but I'm happy to have visitors by appointment! Please be aware that there may be uneven ground or steps on your way to the studio.

Hi, I'm Ruth! I love traditional crafts.
The slowness of making something by hand, and the connection I experience to the materials and the past, through the process of making, nourishes my soul.
I am currently working on a body of quilted work, dyed with food waste and pieced to create repeating and symmetrical patterns. Every piece I create is unique, and I love observing the variations in the natural dye colours, and the marks created during the dyeing process.
